7.5 mile trail run/3.5 mile hike


Test your trail skills along the scenic 7.5 mile Michael Tygart Loop Trail.  Run through shaded pine forests as you watch the sun shine on the cool waters of Greenbo Lake. If you are not up for the 7.5 mile loop trail then we have a 3.5 mile scenic out-and-back option available for you too.   This is a great trail for ALL skill levels.  Bring the family and the family dog for an adventure trek around Greenbo Lake.

$20 early registration

$18 group of five or more

$25 day of race

T-shirt included with registration.  Limited quantity on race day.  Please register early. 

Age Groups

19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up. 



Top two finishers, male and female, in each age category for the TRAIL RUN ONLY.

Custom designed wooden race medallions for top finishers and unique wooden finisher medals for ALL participants.

Race bags/goodie bags for ALL race participants....stuffed with a lot of good snacks, coupons, and trinkets.

Door prizes possible for participants from local businesses.

Charity Information

River Cities Harvest is a local non-profit food rescue and redistribution agency that helps to eliminate hunger in our area.  RCH has successful partnerships with 40 different agencies in Boyd, Greenup, Carter and Lawrence Counties in KY and Lawrence County OH.  We helped to supplement our partner agencies with over 600,000 pounds of food in 2015.  This fundraiser helps us continue our vital mission every year.

Pre registration starts at 7:30 am at the Marina.  Race starts at 8:00 am.

Starbucks coffee, Tim Hortons donuts and fruit in the morning. FREE hot dogs and roasted corn on the cob after the race. 

Register early to guarantee your race t-shirt. Deadline: July 26th for guaranteed t-shirt.  Limited sizes and quantity on race day.

Bring the kids and your family dog for a great day on the trails. There will be two water stations on the trail and the trail will be well marked.

Canned goods are ALWAYS welcomed !!!!!
