Course Map

Join us for the our Sixth Year Celebration by running what we hope will be a frolic through a winter wonderland. Course starts at the Johnson County Health Department running along Route 40 towards Martin County. Includes a double out and back loop of Ponderosa Drive (Island Creek). Course has been described as "Challenging but Fair".  Packet Pickup will be held on December 2nd, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for early arrivers at the Paintsville Ramada Inn and on race morning at the health department starting at 6:45 a.m.

Entry Fees

Early Registration (Until July 31st) Half Marathon $40, 5K $20. Regular Registration (August 1st - December 4th $50, 5K $25. Race Day Registration (If Not Full) $60, 5K $30. Group Rates Ten or More get 20 percent off! Half Marathon capped at 300, 5K at 150. This cap is to ensure that we have the proper supplies and volunteer support not to limit the race. Depending on weather we usually register and run between 150 to 250 people.

Age Groups

Male and Female Divisions. 12 and Under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. $350 total Cash Purse for Half Marathon Overall Winners and registration into 2017 race. Top three male/female Age Group Awards in both races.  If the total runner registrations exceed 150 for either event two weeks prior to event, then Age Group Categories will be 12 and Under, 13-19, 20-24,25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70-80, and 80+.


Unique and local crafted "artistic" awards for overall winners in both races, male and female division. Half Marathon Cash Purse, male and female division. $100 1st, $50 2nd, $25 3rd, plus entry into 2017 race. Amazing goodie bags. Custom unique finisher medals, cute t-shirts, 13.Awesome stickers and beanies, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies at the finish line. This event is part of the Paintsville Christmas festival, so there are plenty of things going on this weekend. Bring the family along!
