Houston Build
By: Nick Bias
Hello Bloggers!- Here is a brief bio of myself
My name is Nick Bias and I am 27 years old. I am a physical education/health education teacher at Van Middle School in Boone County, WV. I am currently in my sixth year as the head track & field coach at Scott High School. I graduated from Concord University in 2006 where I also ran cross country/track & field (2003-2006). In 2004, I was a scoring member of our WVIAC cross country champion team. I will graduate with my master's degree in education from Marshall University next week.
I am currently training for the Houston Marathon on January 15. I have ran and completed 6 marathons (3 Boston, 3 Chicago). My goal for Houston is 2:50-2:53 range which is about 6:30-6:35 pace per mile. I ran a huge PR in April 2011 in Boston when I ran a 2:58:58 on the rugged point to point course. So far the training has been going well and I hope to keep improving with Houston 6 weeks away. I am coached by Howard Nippert- www.howardnippert.com and that has helped me to improve in my running tremendously. Here is my last two weeks of training. I will post my weeks of training in the future as I prepare for Houston.
Good luck to all of you training- "Suffer Now, Win Later"-Mike Cox (Concord XC/Track & Field Coach)- 2 Time Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifer
