Huntington High shows off new cross country course

August 1st may have been the first team practice for the Huntington High School XC team, but Monday, August 8th was even better! The team, along with others, were able to showcase their all new Cross country outdoor facilities training course.

According to an article in the Herald Dispatch, the Cross country team members and coaches were joined by Sen. Bob Plymale, D-Wayne, and Cabell County Schools district administrators and officials to celebrate the opening of a new cross country track at the high school on a hill off of W.Va. 10, south of Huntington. Representatives of the American Heart Association also were in attendance, as the school and the association teamed up to create the course as a shared use facility that members of the public are welcome to utilize. The course will have a bigger debut later this month when Huntington High hosts the first-ever Huntington High School Mountaintop XC Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 27.
