Holiday Hash Run!
By: Rachel Gibson
I feel as though it's now my duty to inform the masses of the run recap every week I am lucky enough to participate in a local harrier house hash run, and guess what? Another one has come and gone!
This one, run through the streets of St. Albans, was lead by the seldom seen "Scrawny Claus", a slimmer, marathoner cousin of the jolly ol' St. Nick (who, from what I hear, is working to reduce his belly full of jelly after seeing his ultra runner kin rockin' that red suit).
A large group of very festive runners sporting holiday gear ran past beautifully lit houses, stopping briefly for beverages as well as an annual holiday photo op. (Be looking for our matching Holiday Cards, they're sure to be a stellar addition to your mantle!)
The run, done on a refreshingly warm winter night (hard to believe Christmas is only a few days away!), finished with a tradition of giving hash names to several who have earned them (for whatever reason Manorexic, Skunk Patch & Mail Order Bride!) and enjoying the company of other social runners.
*How festive are we?!?*
If you haven't had a chance to join in these fun social runs, I recommend it as a New Year's resolution!
Merry Hash Run to all and to all an ON-ON holiday!
