5k, 1 mile Kids Race


The course runs through beautiful, rural Arthurdale and is mostly flat with one hilly stretch. The course is measured and is 3.1 miles long. The kid’s run is measured at 1 mile long and flat. 

Entry Fees

-Goat Gallop 5k Run / Walk - $20 if registered before June 1, $25 after June 1 and on race day.
- Kids Run - $3 registration fee.

-T-Shirts only included with 5k pre-registration. Sizes are S-XL, 2XL+ are an extra $1.00. T-shirts available for purchase at  

Age Groups

Run: 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-over
Walk: 11-16, 17-39, 40-59, 60-over


The award ceremony will be held at 11:00am. Top overall male and female 5k finisher will receive a prize. Top male and female finisher in each age category will receive a medal. All participants in the kid’s race receive a medal. 

Charity Information

Arthurdale was founded in 1933 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration as the nation’s first New Deal Subsistence Homestead Community. The town provided jobs, education, and modern housing for impoverished and unemployed local people. It also served as a laboratory for new educational, industrial, and farming techniques. Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. was formed in 1985 as a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving historic Arthurdale. Find more information online at:

Participants under 10 must have parental permission. Strollers & wheelchairs welcome. 

*Companion policy: Children under 5 are welcome to accompany participants in the 5k–stroller and bikes allowed on course–but please be mindful of other participants. Please indicate upon registration if you plan to have a child companion with you. For accommodations of companions over 5 without registration, please contact the Race Director.
