Charity Information

Proceeds from the race will benefit West Virginia Connecting Communities.  They are an organization dedicated to supporting pedestrian and bicycle safety, as well as the development of complete streets leading to the improved overall well-being of residents.  West Virginia has all the natural elements needed to make it a great cycling destination, and WV Connecting Communities is a magnificent partner to help the state become more accommodating of all forms of transportation and recreation.

More Information

With great regret and sadness, we are going to have to cancel the 2017 Charleston Team Cycling Classic due to a shortage of funding.  Please visit for upcoming information on the 2018 edition.

The inaugural Charleston Team Cycling Classic will be truly one of a kind.  Teams of three cyclists will compete over two days in hip, historic Charleston, WV, in three disciplines to decide an overall winner.  Each stage will award points to cyclists for their finish placing in that event (the Team Time Trial will award 1, 2, and 3 points to the first place team so it isn't weighted more than other events).  A podium sweep would earn 1, 2, and 3 points for a team total of 6 points for that event.  At the end of three events, the lowest cumulative team points total wins.  In the event of a tie, the Team Time Trial results will be the first tie-breaker (there will be more, but it's highly unlikely we'll need them).

This race won't be over until the last finish line is crossed!  It's your chance to stand on the podium of a stage race with your two best teammates.

Accommodations, I'm glad you asked!  The Four Points by Sheraton Charleston is the official Host Hotel for the Charleston Team Cycling Classic!  They have provided our racers with a fantastic discounted rate to stay only a few feet away from the start/finish line of all three events.  There will not be a more convenient place to lodge for the weekend, trust us!  Check availability, pricing, and make your reservation at the Four Points by Sheraton Charleston.  Also, the Courtyard Marriott Charleston Downtown is located just a few blocks away, and they have given us a discounted rate for cyclists in the race.  Visit the Courtyard Marriott website for availability information, but you must call the hotel for the discounted rate.
