Charity Challenge is a special Run & Fun Walk Benefit and Matching Program designed to raise funds collaboratively and build community awareness for the many important programs and projects produced by the non-profit organizations serving our community. The Charity Challenge Run & Walk Benefit will take place on September 30, 2017 in Ravenswood, WV.
Approximately twenty Jackson County non-profit organizations will be selected to participate in the Charity Challenge. Each participating non-profit organization will be raising funds for a specific community program – for example Habitat for Humanity may raise funds to support its local home building projects. At the same time, the Community Foundation’s volunteers will be raising matching dollars from businesses and individuals through sponsorship support. Sponsorship funding creates a matching challenge grant pool for the non-profits and the Jackson County Community Support Fund. With one donation, sponsors support 20 local charities and their community programs and projects. Following the Run & Walk event a Community Celebration Benefit will be held on October 19th with Rocky Bleier, renowned Pittsburg Steeler & celebrated Vietnam War Veteran to honor sponsors and award grants to participating non-profit organizations.
