7th Annual River Cities Harvest Trail Run and Hike Against Hunger

3.5 Mile HIKE and 7.5 Mile TRAIL RUN


Keep cool in the shade of the giant pines around Greenbo Lake on the Michael Tygart Loop Trail.  There will be a 3.5 mile HIKE option that will start at the Marina and continue along the banks of Greenbo Lake.  The trail will loop around and finish back at the Marina.  The 7.5 mile TRAIL RUN option will continue along the entire Michael Tygart Loop Trail.  Trails will be marked with YELLOW paint.  As with any trail running course, please pay attention to all trail markers and signage.  The trail ends on the main blacktop road that brings you back towards the campground and Marina. 

Entry Fees

$18.00 for groups of FIVE or more.  

$20.00 single EARLY registration

$25.00 RACE DAY registration. 

Make all checks payable to River Cities Harvest.  All prceeds benifit the food rescue and redistribution efforts of RIVER CITIES HARVEST.

ALL PARTICIPANTS will receive a finisher medal/token for their participation.


Charity Information

River Cities Harvest is your local non-profit FOOD RESCUE and REDISTRIBUTION agency that serves to provide surplus food to OVER 40 DIFFERENT partner agencies in Boyd, Greenup, Lawrence Co. KY and Lawrence Co. OH. at ZERO COST to the partner agencies.  We rescued 680,000 pounds of food in 2016 and we aim to rescue and redistribute EVEN MORE in 2017 !!  Some of our partner agencies include: The Ashland Community Kitchen, Safe Harbor, the Salvation Army, Ironton City Mission, Helping Hands, First United Methodist Church, Old Town Food Pantry, Argillte Methodist Church, Grace Culture, Pathways The Drop, Boyd County Senior Center and COUNTLESS other church pantries, soup kitchens and outreach programs dedicated to combatting hunger and food insecurity in our area.

We cannot fail to mention our VITAL partnerships with the United Way of Northeast KY, Facing Hunger Food Bank, Feeding America, Boyd County Extension Office, and the Boyd County Master Gardners.

OVERSTUFFED goodie bags and RACE T-SHIRTS will be available to ALL participants.  PLEASE register EARLY to guarantee your shirt size.  Limited quantity will be available on race day....and everyone LOVES our race shirts!!!
