5K

Course

This 5K begins and ends at Oakes Field in South Charleston, WV. The course follows the streets of downtown South Charleston, WV, which is flat and easy for all ages. This is an untimed event. 


Entry Fees

$25 per registrant ages 16-up. All paid registrants who enter by October 5th receive an event t-shirt.

Children 12-under participate FREE with a paid adult. 

Registrants can ride their bikes, run, or walk the 5K course.


Age Groups

All ages welcome to participate in this untimed event.


Awards

All paid registrants entered by October 5th receive an event t-shirt.

Awards are given for Top Fundraisers in two categories: Team and Individual. 

Childres 12-under who participate in the decorated bike parade prior to taking the course are eligible for prizes.


Charity Information

100% of the net proceeds of this event will support the programs of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley.

Our volunteers assist older adults in our community who want to stay in their own homes but need a helping hand now and then. By providing FREE transportation to medical appointments or the grocery store, making weekly reassurance phone calls, or deploying a Honey Do Crew to perform minor home maintenance projects, FIAGKV strives to improve the quality of life of those we serve, every single day, neighbor to neighbor.

This family friendly, super FUN event has something for everyone! Bring your bike, run, or walk to raise funds in support of the work of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley. This 4th annual edition of Pedal with Purpose features a 5K Fun Bike/Run/Walk (participant's choice) and takes place on Saturday, October 26th at Oakes Field in South Charleston. The flat course makes it ideal for families and people of all ages. Activities on the day include:

A bike safety rodeo + helmet giveaway (while supplies last)
Kona Ice truck
Decorated bike parade

Schedule:

12:00 noon - gates open / event registration & check-in
     Bike safety rodeo / decorated bike parade / awards & announcements
1:15 pm - fun bike/run/walk begins  

4:00 pm - event ends
