The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital is a child-friendly facility with staff that works to provide children and families with professional, compassionate evaluation and care to reduce the trauma often experienced by children that are victims of abuse.
Rather than having a child taken from agency to agency to endure multiple interviews, the CAC is a place where the needs of the child can be met in a child-friendly environment. The CAC has highly trained staff to conduct interviews and medical evaluation for children. Families are provided resources and support to help them navigate the system, move forward from their experience and facilitate healing. Families are never charged for services at the CAC.
