Course:
Pending final approval by City of Buckhannon, the race will start and end on Camden Avenue near West Virginia Wesleyan College. This is a road race following city streets in Buckhannon. More details to follow once final approval of route is given.
Entry Fees:
Entry fees will be as follows:
$15 for pre-registrations for the run and walk are due June 15. After that time and on race day, the entry fee is $20.
The Kids Fun Run registration will be $10.
Age Groups:
Male 9 and under 10-14 15-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70 and up Female 9 and under 10-14 15-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70 and up Kids Fun Run (ages 12 and under)
Awards:
The walk is non-competive. For the 5K Run, the overall female and male winner will receive trophies. First and second-place awards will be given in each of the following age groups. Male 9 and under 10-14 15-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70 and up Female 9 and under 10-14 15-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70 and up Kids Fun Run (ages 12 and under) First, second and third place for: 9-12 5-8 0-4
More Information:
This is a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Run in honor of Trooper First Class A.S. Loudin with the West Virginia State Police who was shot while investigating a case in Elkins. TFC Loudin is from Upshur County. All proceeds from the race will go to Trooper Loudin and his family. Please note the Kids 1/2 mile fun run will begin at 6 p.m., the walkers will leave at 6:30 p.m. and the runners will leave at 7 p.m.
